Plethora Of Doom DLC Announced, Free Demo This Week Only

Bethesda announced that they would be supporting Doom with a mixture of free updates to Snapmap, as well as premium content. Marty Stratton from id Software came on stage to talk about the new features that will be coming for free on SnapMap, including a hell skin for levels, the ability to copy the weapon wheel, and new logic options to allow for more creativity.

There will also be a few new multiplayer maps to play around with for customising in Snapmap., including a variant on Capture the Flag and the classic Deathmatch mode.

Bethesda also announced premium DLC for Doom, called Unto The Evil. This includes more multiplayer content; including, but not exclusively, a new Demon form called the Harvester, as well as new guns and new game maps. This will launch next month.

For those who haven’t even touched Doom, the first level will be available to download on Steam, Xbox Live, and PlayStation Store for free, so you can see what all the fuss is about. It’s available for this week, though.

What do you reckon? Is the lack of single player additions a deterrent or is the multiplayer more your jam for what you’re looking forward to?

  1. Definitely going to try the demo.

  2. I’ll try the demo, game looks impressive but possibly a bit repetitive.

    • Demo is live on the store now btw..
