XSEED Games isn’t done yet though and has released a bunch of trailers for various games, including Akiba’s Beat, Exile’s End, Touhou: Scarlet Curiousity, The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel II, and Shantae: Half Genie Hero. All of these games are destined for release on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.

Exile’s End centres around the plot of a mercenary named Jameson who is sent with his crew to find the son of Ravenwood Corporation’s preident on a mining planet gone quiet. Ravenwood controls all commerce on Earth and the other planets, so finding the heir to all of this is the most important mission of Jameson’s life. The game is already available on Steam, and will be coming to PSN and Nintendo eShop soon.

Akiba’s Beat is expected to launch Winter 2016 for both PS4 and Vita in the West. The game’s story is about Asahi Tachibana who is someone considered a NEET. NEETs are considered underskilled people who play games and watch anime all day while living off their parents. Asahi’s story becomes a bit like Groundhog Day where a regular Sunday keeps repeating. He and a few others don’t have their memories reset when the day loops, so it is up to them to stop the issues the loop brings.

Shantae: Half Genie Hero is set to launch in the autumn for PS4, Vita and Wii U. The game is about a half genie named Shantae who has taken on the role of protector for Scuttle Town. She faces her biggest trials in this game as crime rises around Scuttle Town, while the Queen of Pirates plans to attack the town to steal the inventions of Shantae’s uncle.

Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity will be releasing on the PS4 in the West, and is an RPG which stars an immortal vampire named Remelia Scarlett. She sets off on a quest to find a monster causing havoc but not as a noble quest to save the world. Nope, Remeilia is just bored and fancies an adventure. The trailer shows gameplay including some platforming elements, and boss battles.

The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel II will be released on PlayStation consoles, though a date hasn’t been confirmed yet. The main character Rean sets off on a journey across Erebonia, a country which has erupted into civil war, in an effort to locate his friends and discover what has happened following certain events. The trailer shows some gameplay footage but no clear look at the battle system.

From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. Just FYI, “NEET” stands for “Not on Employment, Education or Training”. Whereas it also comprises the heavy stereotype described in the posting, it’s range start with people who finish their education and can’t find a job as well, which I’m afraid is not a Japanese exclusive phenomenon.

  2. That’s a whole bunch of Vita content. I suspect half will be on cart too.
