Surprise! The NDA has lifted on the Battlefield 1 closed alpha today, so ahead of some more in depth thoughts early next week, we’ve put together a quick video showcasing a single round of Conquest from the game.
It’s on the St. Quentin’s Scar map, playing on the German side and working through the four main classes, but there’s plenty more to see in this alpha beyond this. For one thing, there’s the tanks and biplanes, the airship failed to show up in this round, and I’ve seen rainy weather in other matches, but this was a sunny day.

This is great to see, but I don’t like the video embed TSA is using. On iOS (even my giant iPad Pro) there is no way to change/force the quality of the video so I get an averge stream. With YouTube you can force 1080, even with 60fps if available. Food for thought.

That’s not something that you can do through Safari on iOS, and whether viewing on TSA or on YouTube itself, you’re served a standard resolution and frame rate using iOS’ standard video player.
You can change quality settings using the YouTube app though, and this is the only way that I’m aware of. What we’ll do in future is make sure there’s a tappable link which takes you to YouTube and, if you have the app installed, will automatically open the app for you if it’s installed.
