Konami And FC Barcelona Team Up For PES 2017 And Beyond

Konami are going all in with FC Barcelona for PES 2017 and beyond, with what they call a “top-level partnership” that is the “first of its kind.” It goes a fair bit beyond just having the likenesses of the footballers in game, the relevant stadia and the cover stars.

Of course, there is all of that, but Konami are being given much more access to the club’s footballers, who will have a much bigger presence in the game’s match day experience. The Nou Camp is also to be exclusive to the PES series for 2017 and beyond. To my eye, it’s not entirely clear what makes this partnership so extraordinary, as it hooks into the player and team ID systems that Konami have introduced for others as well…. Perhaps we get to see Lionel Messi in his pants? Neymar definitely shows off his tattoos.

That’s a new trailer above, and there’s the cover art and a few in game shots below. PES 2017 is out on 13th September in America, and on the 15th in the rest of the world, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

  1. I just hope with this PES that the refs and there keepers are better, also the option files being back in it should make the game by far the best football game ever.
