Kunos Simulazioni has released a video comparing how the Dualshock 4 measures up against a steering wheel when playing Assetto Corsa. The track chosen for this demonstration is Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, and the vehicle is Lamborghini Huracan GT3. The video description doesn’t mention which wheel has been used by the studio.
Assetto Corsa will release for PS4 and Xbox One onAugust 26th in the UK and Europe, while North America will have to wait until August 30th.

There looks and sounds like there is more tyre squealing coming from the controller side, which is probably due to the smaller amount of movement in the triggers than with a wheel pedal setup. Apart from that there doesn’t look to be much difference between the two.

I thought they looked fairly even too, probably depends which controller you are more comfortable with and how serious you are about the simulation. (I’d stick with the pad)

Having owned Assetto on PC since day one, I thoroughly recommend that anyone who’s buying it invests in a PS4/Xbox One compatible wheel as well. It’s a pleasure to drift a BMW M4 on this on mountain roads with a wheel!

Understeer city on the controller. Probably a hidden stability assist which contributes to that, along with the tyre squeal. Not sure what the video is trying prove or do.
