Kazunori Yamauch, Founder of Polyphony Digital, has announced that Gran Turismo Sport will follow the tradition of every other Gran Turismo game and be delayed.
As we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to perfect GT Sport, which we’ve already dedicated so much effort towards since announcing the title. We do not want to compromise the experience in any way. While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date.
Describing the game as the studios most “ambitious undertaking”, he did not reveal a new date for the game which was meant to be out this November, merely stating it had been delayed to 2017.
The game will be previewed at sporting events across the globe whilst production continues. Some are suggesting the delay may be to coincide with the launch of the Neo, which is expected next year.

Tis a shame. At times it looked amazing, other times a little early. So as long as it runs well upon release, no worries. Good luck Polyphony.

Damn.
Was looking forward to this and DriveClub VR the most with PlayStation VR.
Don’t have a date for DriveClub and now Gran Turismo does it’s customary thing.

Driveclub is out this year, so even if it’s a bit later than PSVR (which is out Oct 13th), its not much of a wait, a month or so at most I would guess.

At least we hope it is.
We all remember the last DriveClub after all…

I would rather wait until it’s finished so we get the best experience possible than have a game below par and/or full of bugs.

To the surprise of nobody at all.

No one saw that coming – in true GT fashion.
That’s actually a good thing for me – less money to pay out before Christmas and lots of good games coming in the next 3 months!

I’d normally agree with the ‘wait until it’s finished and in the best state possible’ statement except you have to draw the line between that and the ‘what have you been doing for so long’ statement. Alas, I’m with the latter.
It’s not one bit surprising given they struggled to fulfill their word on the Spring beta simply because they didn’t have the time. Polyphony really need a kick up the arse. I’m still baffled by what’s taking so long.

Yes… it’s like the GT’s of recent… what has Polyphony Digital been doing for the past 3 years since the release of GT6? Surely they didn’t have just have the one set of developers looking into the PS4 pre-launch, working on GT Sport and putting out content for GT6.
The suspicious is that some time ago, they stated the progress as a rough percentage. At one point saying something like 50% completed, then a few months later 70/80% completed.
It’s hard to understand what Polyphony do when we have a new Forza every couple of years at least, and the progress that has been made on those games.

Let me guess. It’s coming out alongside the “Neo” in spring 2017….

As the release date of November approaches, we took one look at the reception of No Man’s Sky and thought “fuck, no!”.

Rather it late and right then early and a mess. Take your time PD and craft your masterpiece.
*Looks at Battlefields of old and points in GTs direction*
