From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. Bought both GZ and PP for £21 combined in a digital sale. Likewise the retail prices are pretty low, so it’s best to just buy em when you want to buy em.

  2. My favourite game if last year, absolutely loved if, even loved the twist ending that explained a major plot hole in Metal Gear 2 (NES). But there was clearly more of the story to tell, it’s anti climatic, Act 3 was totally cut out, I saw the Lord of the Flies level on YouTube and that being in the game would have made this game a masterpiece but Konami are greedy and rushed this out.

Point is, this isn’t the definitive edition until the game is complete.

  3. Plugging the DLC in a collection seems a bit cheeky when it’s not a significant dose of story or levels, and no episode 51 film thingy means it’s far from complete. Nice to see GZ and PP in one box but with all the ill feeling following Kojima’s departure I can’t help but think this is purely a cash in, it’s not really for the fans.

    • “Mission 51 is not complete, its development was cancelled prior to the initial release of The Phantom Pain
the ending isn’t and never has been missing, but this is a prequel game to Metal Gear (released 1987)
Mission 51 is additional story content that was cancelled before development finished, but its definitely not the ending”

  4. Oh i remember the DLC for TPP and GZ. It was wonderful. Very wonderful. 10/10.

What? you think i’m being sarcastic? I am. Why? Because Konami murdered one of my favourite franchises of all time and Kojima fecked up with the “Missing link.” Missing link my arse! That is not the missing effing link! The ending sucked, the entire second act was bare bones and there is a point in the game where you can tell Kojima either ran out of time or gave up. Feck this!

Oh and we can pay £35 for the pleasure of being disappointed again! Yay! All the DLC! Whooppeeeee!

Yes, i’m pissed about MGSV being a disappointment and i view it as the worst entry into the entire franchise.

Also, feck Konami. This should have happened last year as one game, just like, oooh, i don’t know…

ALL OF THE GAMES IN THE FRANCHISE!

“It’s to get us used to the controls and style.” What a load of bull.

Also, feck konami. Why? because they are 50-70% of why this is the worst game in the franchise. You can see what Kojima wanted to do but with no-one telling him “Actually, that’s a bad idea.” and Konami getting fed up with him either due to the time or budget reasons(apparently, he would reanimate scenes a lot), this resulted in the worst MGS game.

Also, no-one buys MGS for online. Ok, they do but did they really think people would think “Ooo, that multiplayer game.” when they thought of MGS? If so, feck them!

I need a good cuppa now!
