Try Out Overwatch During Its Free Weekend On PS4 & Xbox One

Have you been wondering what all the fuss surrounding Overwatch is about? Well wonder no more, because Blizzard are having a free weekend for the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, starting on Friday 9th September at 7PM BST and running until the following Monday.

You’ll be able to play almost the entire game, sample all 22 characters, play on every map and do so in Quick Play, Custom Games and the Weekly Brawl – Competitive Play is the only omission. You’ll even be able to level up and earn loot boxes, so that if you decide to buy the full game later on you won’t lose any progress.

Though you will need Xbox Live Gold on Xbox One, this trial does not need an active PlayStation Plus subscription on PS4. You will, of course, need one after the weekend is up.

Come next Friday, if you’d like to hop in and give the game a try, just head over to the Xbox Store or PlayStation Store and look for “Overwatch Free Weekend”. It’ll be about 15GB to download… you know, because it’s the whole game.

Oh, and if you already own the game, next weekend’s going to have tons of people running round like headless chickens. Just saying.

  1. I might give this a go. Shame we can’t start downloading 24 hours before these things kick off, for me that’s gonna be an all-dayer. Oh well, I’ll just have to play more No Man’s Sky while I wait!

  2. I suppose i could look at Overwatch porn again. What? I don’t have the means to play it thus the thing it is known for will have to do.

Oh and hpe this is the start of many free weekends for various MP games.

  3. Excellent, great way to increase sales.
