Nintendo Reveal New Gameplay From The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

Breath of the Wild is shaping up to be a huge rewrite of what a Legend of Zelda game is. Nintendo showcased a new part of the game at The Game Awards, with a much more challenging and taxing looking quest to take on, first following minstrel given clues to search for things like a giant serpent’s jaws, taking on enemies intent on springing ambushes, and eventually facing off against a big bad guy.

There’s definitely much more of a survival element to the game, with difficult combat – the big bad enemy they face off against actually walks around a bomb thrown as a trap – using food to heal up, and weapons that can deteriorate and break. New things revealed today include the ability to tame lightning.

There was another trailer released as the teaser just prior to the show.

The video did nothing to dispel recent rumours that the game will not be releasing alongside the Nintendo Switch, as they merely reiterated that it would be coming out in 2017 for Wii U and Switch.
