We already knew that the game would launch at some point in 2027, yet I doubt many expected such an early release in the year. It was also previously confirmed that God of War Laufey will have a physical disc release, though with Sony set to stop printing discs in 2028 it will be one of the last PS5 exclusive games to get a physical edition.
God of War Laufey follow’s Kratos’ wife Faye, aka Laufey the Just who, after dying, wakes up in a different realm entirely, the Everywhen, which is an afterlife to gods of all religions. She quickly comes face-to-face with Sekmet from the Egyptian pantheon of gods, and Begtse, the god of war from Tibetan mythology, who throw her into captivity. While in captivity she meets a talking gelatinous cube called Phranque , and the ribbons of a sword called Rue. Both of these characters become Laufey’s allies as she seeks to restore her own powers and figure out what is happening.
