Santa Monica Studio has announced that pre-orders for the physical and digital editions of God of War Laufey will be going live on September 29th, revealing the various versions you will be able to get and the associated goodies with them. There have also been details released about Faye’s ranged combat using her bow and arrows.
If you choose to pre-order God of War Laufey, you will get the Last Wish armour set, the Phranque Golden Leaves appearance, and an in-game resource pack.These are regardless of which version you order of the game, and you can see what these cosmetics look like in the image above. If you decide to go for the Digital Deluxe version you can see in the image below what you’ll get.
The Digital Deluxe version of God of War Laufey will include, the Dark Alchemy armour set, the Dark Alchemy blade, the Dark Alchemy Bow Scales, Dark Alchemy Catalyst, an in-game resource pack, the digital mini artbook, and the official God of War Laufey digital soundtrack.
What’s this about a bow I hear you ask. Well, that’s Faye’s newest weapon. This bow is called the Serpent Bow, which can be wielded to attack enemies at range or do some close combat damage. The bow has two firing modes, precision and hip-fire, allowing you to utilise it in different ways. Precision mode allows for players to aim at specific points on an enemy to take advantage of weaknesses. In this mode, up to five arrows can be stacked to fire. Hip-fire mode allows Faye to fire a volley of arrows quickly at enemies that are in close range. There are also different types of arrows to use including explosive and multitarget, so picking the right arrow for the job will be necessary. The bow can also be equipped with different scales that can change the perk associated with it, changing up playstyles. Armour choices will also impact the perks and stats of Faye’s weapons.
God of War Laufey will release February 16th 2027 for PS5.
