We’re used to Sony Japan having bonkers adverts, and indeed there have been a number for The Last Guardian including one where an office worker stares longingly at a poster. Sony Europe have joined in the fun showing a suburban British couple who happen to have a Trico as a pet.
As you do.

Credit given, I quite liked that. :-)

Love it, but it really needs to actually show Trico in action, not just the game box. Could they not have at least some in game footage?
ron_mcphatty
Very silly and very amusing. Not sure it would pass the ‘Skip this ad’ test though.
TSBonyman
Amusing but needs more Trico!

Well according to TC, he’s a CatBirdDogRat, so surely his name should be Quadco.
ron_mcphatty
I thought TC said he was a CatBirdDogRatTrumpPence? Sexco!
double-o-dave
In that case, lets just call it Donald.

To be fair that’s very amusing. Kudos to all involved!

Treeco??
I always thought it was tryko. Like tricycle, not a treecycle!
bunimomike
Think us Westerners are supposed to go along with “treeko” from the Japanese word that is pronounced toriko – meaning “baby bird” amongst other things. Also, that works well as the “ico” part of Trico is precisely how the game Ico is supposed to be pronounced.
Hope that helps. :-)
Severn2j
Wait, Ico was pronounced “eeko”!? My whole world view has been wrong all these years!
Stefan L
Yes, because that’s how the Japanese syllabic structure and vowel sounds work.
bunimomike
Not only what Tef said but the Japanese language is far less flexible on pronunciation (unlike the easygoing nature of English). Hell, when I was dating an ex of mine (years ago) if I said “I love you” in the wrong particular pitch/tone (you say the first word, then the second word is higher in pitch and the third has to be the lowest of all three words) it means something else. To us Westerners, it’s pretty strange stuff. :D

Uncultured swine. Off with your head! :D

Spared no expense… very good though :D

I’ve always gone with the shorter sounding (wrong) version as I didn’t know any better when I first played it in the PS2 days. We were also going to call our cat Ico if a boy and Yorda if a girl until the wife intervened!
double-o-dave
When you say ‘wife’, I assume you mean Yorda’s mum, the evil queen ;)
