PlayStation 4 owners have had to be very patient while waiting to get their hands on Elite: Dangerous and its vast galaxy to explore, trade, bounty-hunt and pirate your way through. Having been out on PC since 2014 and Xbox One since 2015, that wait is finally coming to an end, with Frontier Developments announcing that the game is heading to PS4 in Q2 2017 – alas, there’s no specific release date just yet.
One slight benefit is that this will feature the full game and all of the content from the Horizons expansions. These expansions opened up the possibility to leave your space ship and head onto planetary surfaces in a Surface Recon Vehicle, to explore, attack bases, mine resources, and more.
The game will have PS4 Pro support, trying to make full use of the console’s additional power, but the blog post featured no mention of PlayStation VR, which it must be said is a little disappointing. Playing Elite: Dangerous with Oculus Rift or HTC Vive is fantastically immersive, but it seems as though PlayStation fans will be missing out on this side to the game.

Good news. Do you know if there’s cross platform support for Multiplayer?
I’m enjoying the game but spend nearly all my time in single player mode as you can spend ages waiting to get into space stations and you get destroyed quite often by people who have been playing a lot longer who have much more powerful ships than your own.
I hope there is going to be PSVR support.

Yes, all platforms share the same galaxy.. Although, I always play in Solo mode myself. Too many griefers for my liking.

Oh dear, this spells potential bad news for my social and family lives.
