Bandai Namco has confirmed that Tekken 7 will be releasing on June 2nd, pushing it out of the original early 2017 window. The game will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Along with the release date a new trailer has been released.
Katsuhiro Harada spoke to Gamespot about the release date, apologising for missing the early window.
“We were trying our best to get the game out at that time, to get it into the hands of users as early as possible. We saw some titles, some from our own company and some from others, which didn’t have a very good launch because of a lack of content, or whatever it was, that caused players to bash the product.
Although this is the first time we’ve actually announced a date, it wasn’t always June. It came through a process and we made some hard decisions and that was the result.’Early’ was probably March or April from your average person’s perspective, so we’re not going to try and sugar-coat it. We realise it’s not ‘early,’ I’m so sorry!”

Good call. I think SFV has damaged itself a bit with the light launch and build up as I know I’ve kept away from it until I see its a fully formed product – and actually what does that even look like?

Longtime fan of the Tekken series though I feel like it hasn’t really progressed much when compared with Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.
I consider myself cautiously optimistic.
