The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild To Have Series’ First DLC Expansion Pass

Nintendo want you to take your time with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is set to be the biggest adventure in the series to date, but they’re waking up to modern gaming and realising that there’s going to be more than a few people out there crying out for more content down the line. Instead of making you wait for the next Zelda game, which could take an awfully long time, Breath of the Wild will be the first to have an Expansion Pass, adding new DLC add-on content.

Priced at £17.99, it will see two sets of downloadable content added to the game later this year. The first is set for release this summer, with a Cave of Trials challenge, a harder difficulty and a new feature for the in-game map, while the second will come towards the end of the year, adding new challenges, a new dungeon and a new original story.

Content packs cannot be bought individually, but the DLC will be available for both Switch and Wii U as soon as the game launched on 3rd March. As soon as you buy, you’ll also gain three treasure chests in the Great Plateau area, one of which contains a shirt with a Switch logo, while the other two have more practical items to help with your adventure.

It’s not the meatiest sounding expansion pass I can think of – certainly, it doesn’t seem as generous as the Mario Kart 8 DLC – but bound to be essential for those looking to get absolutely everything out of their new Switch or old Wii U.
