Two New Schools Of Magic Feature In Divinity: Original Sin 2’s Latest Trailer

Following on from their success with Divinity: Original Sin, Larian Studios took their sequel to Kickstarter, just as they had done with the original. With more than a few fans following their journey, it breezed past their original target and pushed into the project’s stretch goals.

With the game currently in Steam Early Access, Larian are gradually fleshing it out alongside their fans, and the latest patch adds two new schools of magic – summoning and polymorphing – delivering on some of those stretch goals in the process.

Beyond that trailer, a second video goes into greater detail on how these powers work, as explained by Creative Director Swen Vincke.

This patch also allows you to “make war” with another party member, fighting to the very death as opposed to the friendlier co-op duels, and bringing one character’s story to a definitive end.

Having been in Early Access since September last year, the game is set for release on PC some time this year, with a console release planned for soon after.

  1. Swen is awesome. Love it when he’s in the videos. He embodies all that is right with creating games. Also, the possibilities for the sequel looks to be tremendous and that’s building on an already superb battle system (regarding elements and how they interact).

Cannot wait! (but still behaving and not going Early Access)
