Many years on and some of the core developers who once worked at creating a range of stellar games at Rare have moved on to Playtonic Games, a studio that has created a spiritual successor to the beloved Banjo-Kazooie.
This doesn’t mean that Playtonic doesn’t have love for Donkey Kong 64 though, as Playtonic has unveiled a Yooka-Laylee rap which is obviously inspired by the original “DK Rap” all those years ago.

Yooka-Laylee is releasing on April 11th 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam, with a release date for the game on Nintendo Switch to be confirmed.
