SCUF Release Two New Pro Controllers For PlayStation 4 & PC

There’s been a spurt of new licensed controllers being released for PlayStation 4 of late, with Razer and Nacon both looking to challenge SCUF for their dominance of the pro controller arena. That’s not gone unnoticed, and SCUF have reacted with two new controllers: A tweaked version of their Infinity4PS controller, now becoming the Infinity4PS Pro, and the new Impact controller. Both are designed to work with both PS4 and PC.

The Impact is an interesting one, with a shell that’s very reminiscent of the old Xbox 360 controller. It features four removable back paddles that are recessed into the controller, both wired and wireless connectivity, a secured cable retention system, and the full range of customisable buttons, triggers, joysticks and designs that you’d expect from SCUF.

The Infinity4PS Pro starts at £99.99 / $129.95 / €129.95 & £99.99, while the SCUF Impact pricing starts at £109.99 / $139.95 / €139.95 & £109.99.

  2. That looks like some seriously well engineered hardware, i don’t think i’d ever need one but the wireless ability makes it more appealing than the others.

  3. Funny how these 3rd party playstation controllers keep copying xbox designs. I guess it’s for those who don’t like the playstation pad.

    • I don’t think they’re copying Xbox controllers as such, but they’re looking to what’s ergonomic and being concious of the eSports sector. In all honesty, the DS4 isn’t that ergonomic and the fatter designs of Xbox, Steam, and Nintendo controllers are a bit more comfortable for longer gaming sessions.

      • It looks like something halfway between the DS4 and XBone controller. Fatter than the DS4, not as fat as the XBone.

        Which would suggest it’s MS who were copying Sony’s design in the first place. Since Sony designed their controllers first.

        Or perhaps there’s just a limited number of things you can do with the design of a controller. Small (Sony before the PS4), Medium (DS4), Large (this new one) and Extra Large (Xbox).

        It’s exactly the same design, due to anyone who would be using one having a pair of hands. Just the size changes. And sometimes the sticks end up in the incorrect, offset position.
