There’s a new kind of turn-based annelid warfare coming to Worms WMD, with Team17 announcing and releasing Forts Mode for the latest game in the long running series. It’s out now for PC, Mac and Linux, and will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One soon, but the nicest thing about it is that it’s part of a free update.

Forts Mode tasks you with defending your own fort as you try to infiltrate the enemy’s and defeat them in battle. There’s six forts including the Castle Hassle, Donkey Dig and Pink Peril, and Team17 are adding new crafted weapons, such as the Magnetised Drone, which was designed by the community. Alongside that, there’s a bunch of new worm customisation options and a round of bug fixes and tweaks.
