Aporia: Beyond the Valley is a first-person puzzle game with a heavy focus on environmental story-telling and player interactivity without the use of text or dialogue. The game’s studio Investigate North is also chaired by the producer of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Wallander, so the artistic direction feels very strong.
Aporia’s story entails the player waking up in the ruins of a mighty civilisation of Ez’rat Qin after hundreds of years, while having no memory of the past. The player must focus on exploring and completing puzzles, which is the key to finding out who your character is and what happened to their civilisation. Investigate North, who say they are dedicated to making a game that’s filmic and story-drive, have provided a list of what players can expect from Aporia:
- An immersive, detailed world created in CryEngine.
- Avoid traps and solve brain twisting puzzles made to make you question what happened in The Valley.
- Explore bizarre architecture and overgrown nature, choosing your own path in the game’s non-linear world.
- Fully original musical score.
- Full controller support.
The game is expected to launch on PC via Steam later this year.

Not sure I want brain-twisting puzzles but the rest sound great! :-)
