Some of you reading this may be heading to E3 this week, and some of you may be interested in experiencing the games that Devolver Digital will have while venturing around the company’s Indie Picnic. However unless you’re a member of the press or part of the gaming industry you aren’t getting in, with the issue being that Devolver Digital has been refused special use permits due to capacity restrictions.
On the official Devolver site a statement was released in light of the news.
Our disappointment runs deep that we are not able to utilize the additional space we leased specifically to be able to host the fans who bought E3 wristbands this year. Opening up more space for the public to experience a unique and memorable celebration of games was something we very much wanted to do for fans who, like us, love video games. We are saddened that we will be unable to share that with them but look forward to working on future opportunities to do so.
E3 2017 is the first E3 the public has been allowed to purchase tickets to attend, with previous iterations of the event being for press and industry only.
