Project Cars 2 Hits The Streets On 22nd September

Project Cars 2’s 22nd September release date has been announced, in what starts out as a surprisingly creepy trailer for a racing game. Trying to capture the soul of motorsport – also creepy after the below trailer’s intro – the game expands in all directions from the original game, adding new disciplines of racing, new cars, new tracks and more demonic uprisings*.

One new feature is that of multi-class races in single player and championship mode, letting you mix and match races with modern day prototypes, classic sports cars, GT3 cars, and plenty more besides. Your finishing position will be shown in the context of both the overall race and within your class. Perfect for replicating the feeling of racing Le Mans in one of the slower classes, while LMP1 cars blaze past you.

The game retains the “sandbox” approach to your career, letting you pick whatever formula and category of racing you want to tackle first, before working your way up to achieve whatever heights you wish. That’s now broadened with the inclusion of rallying and Rallycross, both of which have been made possible by an overhauled car physics and tyre simulation model.

Speaking of which, you should catch our most recent preview, which took a look at Rallycross and more in this game.

*The game does not actually feature demonic uprisings, to the best of my knowledge.

  1. Oh snap, earlier that I was anticipating, lovely.

    • Should beat GT to release, might help it sell a few more.
