New World Interactive and Focus Home Interactive have confirmed the existence of Insurgency: Sandstorm during E3. This new game is described as an expanded sequel to the original Insurgency, with the addition of extra modes including the story mode. Not too much is given away in the accompanying trailer but it appears that one of the protagonists is searching for someone in the war zone.
What has been confirmed for the story mode is that it will be playable cooperatively by up to four players, including two player split screen. Light vehicles will also be usable, there will be character customisation, fire support requests, and ranked matchmaking. The confirmed platforms are PS4, Xbox One, and PC but a release date is yet to be confirmed.
