Details Revealed About What Players Will Have Access To In Destiny 2 Beta

Bungie has detailed what content will be featured in the Destiny 2 Open Beta, which kicks off  on July 18th for those who pre-ordered and July 21st for everyone else. One of the first things will be the main campaign’s first story mission which will give an introduction to events, but the main crux is obviously the multiplayer.

In the open beta there will be two competitive multiplayer modes and one cooperative mode. The competitive modes include new mode Countdown in which you either attack or defend a base. The other competitive mode is Control. where you must capture and take map points. The co-op mode is Inversted Spire Strike where a team of three must push through a Vex stronghold. Co-op will support matchmaking.

Players will also be able to experiment with the new subclasses with Warlocks using Dawnblade, Titans using Sentinel, and Hunters using the Arcstrider. On Sunday July 23rd between 6PM BST and 7PM BST Bungie will be hosting a techincal test for The Farm social space, allowing everyone with beta access a chance to enter the area.

  1. Not sure if I will bother downloading or not.

    • I will, just to get a bit of A Destiny fix between now and the release, but I definitely buying Destiny 2 regardless of what I see in the beta.

      • My phone’s SwiftKey keeps autocorrecting “I’m” back to “I” and it’s really pissing me off!
