Splatoon 2 Gets A Four Hour Splatfest World Premiere Demo On 15th July

One of the more curious announcements from the Splatoon 2 Direct that’s just finished is that the first Splatfest is actually going to take place before the game is out. The Splatoon 2: Splatfest World Premiere will be held on 15th July between 5PM and 9PM UK time using a special demo version of the game.

This kind of multiplayer event featured during the first game’s couple years of support, calling on players to pick a side in a simple two way question and then fight for that. Famously, the last Splatfest  had users picking between Callie and Marie, the two Squid Sisters, in a battle that has come to affect the sequel’s story. This time around, it’s a choice between whether ice cream or cake is better.

To ensure that you can all get into the game and make the most of the time, the demo will be available to download from the Nintendo Switch eShop from tomorrow, 7th July. Once downloaded, you can open the game and pick your side in the upcoming fight, as well as visiting the in-game mailbox to create and share drawings, which emulates the Miiverse functionality of the original.

There’s plenty more details about Splatoon 2 that we’ll be sharing with you as soon as we’re able to type them up!
