The precise nature of Gran Turismo Sport’s PlayStation VR mode has been kept under wraps and to be honest we weren’t expecting much when series creator Kaz Yamauchi was less than enthusiastic about the technology.
At best it sounded like there would be a VR viewing mode where you could gawp and shiny cars in VR, but it turns out you will be able to complete full arcade races with the PlayStation VR headset attached to your bonce. However, there is one caveat: The races will be 1 vs 1.
The game is compatible with the PS VR, providing the user a 360 degree 3D environment to experience. There is a dedicated VR Drive mode in the Arcade Mode where you can drive one on one races as though you are really sitting in the driver seat, surrounded by a real car interior.
Clearly PSVR was never going to be recreate the full GT experience with a host of accurately detailed vehicles racing, but at least you get to race in VR.

Seems kinda pointless. Like they’ve reluctantly had to tack it on so they can put it on the back of the box

Like FIFA13 adding PlayStation Move support

While having the full game in VR would be ideal I’ll happily take this.
Even if it was just a time trial mode with all cars on all tracks I’d be happy as let’s be honest racing against GT AI isn’t going to be that great.
Maybe they’ll be able to add a 1 on 1 online mode down the line which would be cool.

I’d thought it would have been more than 1v1 but I guess they wanted it to look as good as they could get it.
I still think it’ll pretty good with just the two cars, if VR includes all the cars in the game.
