Nintendo Brings Switch Online To South America, Updates Splatoon 2 Balance

Nintendo have updated both the Nintendo Switch system software and Splatoon 2 in recent days, bringing their online service to more countries in South America, and applying a ton of balancing and fixes to Splatoon 2.

Switch System Software 3.0.2 adds the following:

  • Nintendo Switch Online
    • Added online play in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. This is currently available for free until the paid online service launches in 2018.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience

While Splatoon 2 has seen a myriad of weapon tweaks across the entire game. For Splatfests, they’re increasing the amount of experience needed to fill out the slots on the Splatfest tshirt, making the grind a little longer to get those cheap perks, while some weapon and special effects have been fixed to work better in Salmon Run – most notably the Sting Ray special weapons – and many will be overjoyed to hear that the Tri-Slosher has had its damage slashed from 64 points to 52 points and its range reduced by 9%, making it much, much less powerful in the process.

The patch notes for this one are huge, so head over to Nintendo’s support site for the details.

Finally, an update has been announced for ARMS that will add the ability to remap controls to different buttons and the sensor sensitivity. An awful Google translation of the tweet is as follows:

In Ver.3, add “controller setting” that allows you to freely change the button layout.
I want to activate the rush with this button, I want to guard … Adjust it to such! You can adjust to the sensor sensitivity you like.
