There’s a lot of anticipation for Call of Duty WWII and a return to the early days of the series, and Activision are actively looking to pull on the nostalgia that people have for the classics with the return of the Carentan map that was a cornerstone of the first few games.

However, in order to get this COD classic in COD WWII, you’ll have to stump up some extra cash, as it will be a bonus map at launch exclusively for Season Pass holders. That’s as opposed to the practice in recent years of adding the bonus map for pre-orders or in the day one editions of the game.
The season pass format doesn’t change much compared to previous games, with four DLC packs launching through 2018, each of which will include new and revamped multiplayer maps and a new map for Nazi Zombies, but also new War Missions. Given the new War game mode, it will be interesting to see how Sledgehammer look to cater to the different demands on level design and how much crossover there can be with maps in the season pass.
