The first The Last of Us was not a game to hold back, and the sequel is going even further with an incredibly brutal and sometimes difficult to watch new cinematic trailer. Just click play to get the latest tantalising glimpse of Naughty Dog’s next game.
No word on when it’ll be out, but damn… hopefully they don’t keep us waiting for too long.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been watching The Walking Dead recently, but that ain’t hard to watch. It isn’t very brutal either!
I got the impression early this year it’s a 2018 game, and I hope it is. Will easily be a highlight.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s too bad either.
But it seems everyone’s jumped on it already for being brutal.
Random headlines from assorted sites include “absolutely brutal”, “super violent”, “gory and brtual” and “five miserable minutes”. And a whole load of variations on those things.

This game never needed a sequel.
Maybe it’s just me but I have a feeling this sequel will not meet expectations, it was critically acclaimed so Sony said we need a sequel

It’s not like they’re rushing out a sequel though, is it?
It could even be one of those rare cases where a sequel is better than the original. If it looks and sounds as good but they can manage to improve the gameplay (which wasn’t great to start with), it could turn out quite decent.
Or maybe all the trailers have been cunning misdirection and the sequel is a completely different thing and you control a giraffe. I’d much rather find out what happened to them than the mildly annoying Ellie, or Joel, who was just a bit of a dick really.

so glad there is more to come from that universe! love Last Of Us & hyped for this looking great.

Have you played the Reboot/Rise? This could be a cut scene lifted straight out of either one of those games. It’s dark, it’s dreary, it’s grim. There’s a young woman with brunette hair in a ponytail, wearing a tank-top, being tortured by some kind of deranged cultists. There are arrows to the head and brutal claw-hammer (pickaxe) finishers. Sounds like the new Tomb Raider games to me, sadly. The only difference was, the young woman wasn’t having orgasms whilst she was being hanged.
I honestly thought ND were having a dig. Or paying homage. Probably paying homage.

Looks very similar to the last two Tomb Raider games. And that isn’t a compliment.
But this is just one trailer so I won’t make judgements about the final product. I have every faith in ND to deliver a solid game. They usually do.

My thoughts exactly.

never once felt Tomb Raider watching that must say.

Whoops, replied to the wrong comment.

It looks amazing and i want it now.

Wow, looks intense! The original was a masterpiece so I’ll be interested to see if they can top it, especially considering the Joel/Ellie relationship was what made that game so good.
