The Sea Of Thieves Closed Beta Has Been Extended

As the good ship Sea of Thieves prepares to set sail in March, it’s been put through its paces on the choppy waters of the Closed Beta Sea. Alas, all was not well, and Rare found themselves having to try and figure out why passengers were being denied entry despite having a valid ticket for this test voyage.

You’re “too early”, many of those who had pre-ordered a spot digitally were told, but Rare soon found the problem below decks, patched it up and began letting everyone onto the ship that should be allowed on.

To make up for the lost time, they’ve decided to extend the test an extra two days, so that the game will return to port at 8AM GMT on Wednesday 31st January, instead of Monday. Be sure to make the most of it, because it’ll be nearly two months before you can play the full game.

Here’s hoping that it’s smoother sailing for the game’s maiden voyage.
