Companies celebrate their game releases in a number of different ways, but it looks like Capcom may be taking this monster hunting thing to another level. As a response to the release of Monster Hunter World the publisher has put up a cash prize of £50,000 for anyone that can deliver comprehensive evidence for the existence of one of ten famous monsters that have been the subject of legends for years.
The list of beasts is as follows:
- Big Foot
- Loch Ness
- Mongolian Death Worm
- Mermaid
- Earth Hound
- Yeti/Almasty
- Chupacabra
- Flying Snake of Namibia
- Yowie
- Cornish Owlman
To help with the evidence checking Capcom has teamed up with Jon Downes who is the Director of The Centre for Fortean Zoology, an organisation that has been analysing evidence for creatures like the above, as well as conducting research. All evidence submitted by real world hunters will be analysed by the Centre before a prize is awarded. You can’t rest though as this competition will end in six months time.

I can confirm the Loch Ness was mistakenly took from an Elephant walking under water.
Big Foot does exist and was last seen at The Hendersons home.
Chupacabre was sadly killed in Action thanks to Agent Mulder and Agent Scully.
Mermaid can transform with two legs after finding their love…. we have to ask Tom Hanks about that incident around 30/35 years ago…
And the rest no clue but I shall investigate as that 50K is a lovely prize xD

To which the correct response is obviously “No! Why not use that £50,000 you won’t be giving anyone to buy some proper advertising like everyone else does?”
It’s amazing how much advertising you can get by not spending £50,000.

I have zero belief that there is a Loch Ness monster. However, despite this, I was still completely bricking it at points when I had to kayak the length of it. Strange really.
Also, I might be wrong but if you found proof of one of these myths, you’re surely in to make more than 50k from other areas!?
