Toy Maker States A New Sonic Racing Game Is On The Way

Evidence is mounting that Sega have a new Sonic racing game in development. A German toy maker called Zappies has stated that a new game will launch this year and they will be selling tie-in toys. Zappies had a booth at a recent toy fair and were displaying the products from the old Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed game as an indication of what the new toys may look like.

Earlier this week a presentation hosted by British law firm Browne Jacobson was discovered which seemed to show Sumo Digital’s plans during 2017 . These included an “Unannounced Karting Game” based on an “Established Global IP.” Sumo Digital were, of course, the team that created the last two Sonic racing games.

Sega community manager Aaron Webber  picked up on the rumours and tweeted “Hi guys – saw rumors floating today about another SART game. Just wanted to confirm it’s not a thing!”, which may be true as the game may not be the third in the series, indeed the Sumo Digital slide specifically states their game is an “Original Development” and not a sequel.
