Konami Celebrate Selling 100 Million Copies Of PES With An In-Game Event

Selling 100 million copies of Pro Evolution Soccer is one hell of a landmark for the perennial underdog of football games, even if this series has often been considered the best game in town. To celebrate, Konami are launching a some in-game events and additions in PES 2018, for both the console series and the mobile game, which has passed its own 100 million downloads landmark.

Seven legendary players will joining both version of PES 2018, letting you add Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, David Beckham, Johan Cruyff, Romario, Diego Maradona and Luis Figo to your MyClub squad. You’ll also get a log in bonus, which can net you  coins, GP, contract renewals and special bonuses.

However console players are left out of the 100 million goals trial, which tasks mobile players with contributing to a combined total of 100 million goals, and there’s special online matches to take part in, playing as Barcelona against Real Madrid (or whatever that team is called in PES)

There’s also a competition with a chance to meet Barcelona player Philippe Coutinho, though I’m sure this meeting will be a bit awkward if a Liverpool fan wins. Details of the competition are here, but you basically just need to follow @officialpes on Twitter.
