Yakuza 3, 4, And 5 To Be Remastered For PlayStation 4

The latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation magazine in Japan has an announcement from Sega which reveals Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 are all to be remastered for PlayStation 4, meaning the entire series will then be available on the console.

According to the report the games will have “improved resolutions and frame rates”, with Yakuza 3 set to launch in Japan this August, with Yakuza 4 this autumn and the fifth game early next year.

There is no news of a western release but the other Yakuza remasters have made their way to us so there’s no reason why these would not. We gave Yakuza 3 a whopping 9/10 when it was launch on PlayStation 3.

  1. Almost the entire series on the PS4. They seem to have forgotten the zombie one.

  2. Great news, they’ve been talking about wanting to do this for a while.
Looking forward to playing Kiryu’s complete saga all on one console, providing they come to the west too.

  3. I wish they would remaster the Beenox Spider-man games (Shattered Dimensions & Edge of Time). Shattered Dimensions in particular was pretty great.

Just checked online to see what Beenox are up to now and Activision have them working on Black Ops IIII. Such a waste!

Anyway, I doubt we’ll ever see a remaster of these great games, what with the Insomniac Spidey game coming out this year. Shame.

You can’t even stream them on PSNow as they’ve been delisted.

    • You will never see a remaster of those as Activision don’t own the rights to Spider-Man video games anymore.

      • Damn, probably the same for Wolverine: Origins too. Sad that they’re just lost forever once the license term is up. Wish I’d kept my copies now ?
