Fans of Valkyria Chronicles have had to wait a long time for a true home console sequel to the cult classic turn-based tactical series – Valkyria Revolution did not scratch the same itch. It was a pleasant surprise when Valkyria Chronicles 4 was announced late last year, and the game has finally been given a western release date of 25th September for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Featuring the CANVAS engine and its gorgeous watercolour inspired graphics, a soundtrack from Hitoshi Sakimoto and a return to the BLiTZ battle system, this is hopefully a return to form for the series.
If you’re a diehard fan, then you can even look at getting the awkwardly named “Memoirs from Battle Edition”, which includes a tank. Not a full sized tank, mind you, but a vinyl statue of the Hafen tank from the game.
