The Minecraft Movie Has Been Delayed

Bad news for literally no-one, ever, anywhere, as the movie based on Minecraft has been unexpectedly delayed. Director and co-writer Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) has left the project along with writer Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman). The news was announced by McElhenney who told The Wrap “No, that is not happening.”

Warner Bros. have hired writer/director siblings Aaron and Adam Nee to draft a new script, the pair’s previous work includes the 2015 American crime comedy Band of Robbers which was a retelling of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and they are also attached to the reboot of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

The Minecraft movie was meant to be out May 2019, a new release date has not been announced.
