You Can Now Unleash A Robot Apocalypse In Europa Universalis IV

Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t remember there’s being any robot apocalypses when I was being taught about the 15th, 16th and 17th century in school, but here we are with robot armies invading Paradox Interactive’s otherwise historically grounded Europa Universalis IV.

OK, so it’s optional and requires you to access the game’s console, but it’s still quite the surprise to see robotic knights on the map of the world. If you’re familiar with Paradox’s games, then you’ll spot the rather obvious reference, with Synthetic Dawn the third expansion for another game of theirs, Stellaris.

If you’re going to invoke the robots, then you’d probably do well to pick some of the most recently upgraded empires in the game, with the Dharma expansion released in September adding much more depth to the map for India, Tibet and Burma, and adding mission trees and specific empire quirks for India. Also war elephants, which might come in handy when the robots come a-knocking!
