If ever a game looked like a guilty pleasure, then it is the Shapeshifting Detective. No matter how the finished game plays, it will be likely the greatest game of all time in the niche ”supernatural noir murder mystery FMV” genre.
It’s a bit like a ‘sexy’ episode of Midsomer Murders, though rather than the population of an entire village being a likely suspect, it’s just three tarot readers. Things are complicated however, by the player’s character being able to shapeshift into anyone they like in order to discover clues – even becoming the next victim in the process!

The Shapeshifting Detective is due for release on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on the 6th of November. Pre-orders are available from today with a rather spiffing 20% discount.
