A few week’s ago a tweet seemed to indicate Ubisoft’s unannounced but teased game, Pioneer, had been cancelled. Kotaku have done a little digging and it appears that may not be the case.
They are reporting that rather than being binned Pioneer has been rebooted from a non-violent exploration game and is now a co-op alien shooter that will use the same engine and tech as Rainbow Six. Apparently Ubisoft had already started working on a zombie based spin off from Rainbow Six which was subsequently cancelled, so they have used the engine for something similar.
Ubisoft teased the game with a trailer hidden in Watch Dogs 2, but will we ever see it on the shelves?
