EA to launch a subscription service on a new platform, is it EA Access on PS4?

EA have been reporting their financials and during an earnings call they stated “In the year ahead we plan to offer a subscription service on another major platform.”

Some people have assumed this means EA Access is coming to PlayStation 4, a year ago EA CEO Andrew Wilson said that they were going push EA access “to more platforms going forward,” but at the time of launch, Sony rejected the idea of the service on PS4..

The wording of the statement from EA is rather woolly, the fact that they don’t mention Access by name is particularly odd. If it’s not EA Access, then it’s a new model, and if it’s new it could be on any platform. Perhaps they are launching Access Premiere on Xbox, or maybe something for mobile gamers.

Whatever it is it won’t be for Switch as EA don’t really make games for that console.
