MediaMolecule’s Dreams has been in development for a hell of a long time, first being teased way back in February 2013 as the PlayStation 4 was first announced. It’s now finally heading toward release, of a sort, with the Dreams Early Access launching on 16th April.
Following on from the beta tests run earlier this year, the Dreams Early Access is really meant for creators. It will include the full tool set for creating, tutorials and arcade games, templates and access to all of the creations made during the beta. What you won’t get is the story mode and some other niceties that are planned for the final release. VR support, for example, won’t be in the initial Early Access release, but details on when that will arrive will be shared as it nears readiness.
Dreams Early Access will cost £24.99/€29.99/$29.99/CAD$39.99, and only coming to US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and European territories. Buying it at this point will also grant you the full game upon release, and with that in mind there’s a limit to how many people can buy in. Sony say “Dreams Early Access is limited yes, but it’s a big limit. That being said, to avoid disappointment, we do recommend you purchase as soon as you can to enjoy all of the creator tools available.”
Will you be diving in to see what all the fuss is about? Or holding off until everything’s finished?
