Warhammer: Chaosbane’s latest trailer outlines endgame mode and DLC plans

The first action RPG set in the Warhammer fantasy world is looking like it’s going to scratch that itch for Diablo fans, but what we’ve seen and been able to play so far has all been about the main, run-of-the-mill gameplay from the start of the game. What, you might ask, have Eko Software got in mind for the endgame? What will be coming down the line in the form of updates and DLC? Well, luckily there’s a new video that outlines both!

As soon as you’ve finished the main quests, you’ll enter the endgame, where you can simply restart the game with a new character, but keep all your previously unlocked fragments, money, crafting and so on. There’ll also be a few extra modes to try out, including the randomly generated levels of Expedition Mode, Relic Hunts where you follow a map from the Collector’s Guild and delve through several layers of dungeons to collect heroic gear, and a Boss Rush, where you just battle all the bosses from the game.

That’s a pretty solid foundation of stuff for people to play, but Eko will also be adding new features through free updates. The first is a new difficulty level and new gear, then a permadeath mode, a new heroic set for each character, and an increase to the maximum character level.

Those will overlap with some paid content that’s coming with the Season Pass. The first DLC adds new emotes and a passive skill to increase your chance of finding heroic items – so it’s “pay to be slightly more likely to win”? The second DLC passive skill will let you find God fragments more easily as well as an an alternate God Skill tree for each character. The third DLC brings new companions, while the fourth will add an entirely new story and act that is separate from the main campaign. Having battled the forces of Chaos all this time, you’ll instead be facing off against the undead evil of the Tomb Kings.

Warhammer: Chaosbane will be out on 4th June for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Keep an eye out for our review between now and then, but if you’re eager to find out more, make sure to check out our recent Warhammer: Chaosbane preview.
