CrossfireX is coming to Xbox One, and here’s why that’s a big deal

You might not have heard of Crossfire – I certainly hadn’t until today – but that doesn’t mean the fact that a version of the game called CrossfireX coming to Xbox One isn’t a huge deal. The game is a free-to-play first person shooter and it has a vast following on PC, with over 650 million players.

CrossfireX is a console rendition of the game, coming to console for the first time with Xbox One in 2020. Developed by Smilegate Entertainment in Seoul, South Korea, it features a single player campaign that was developed in partnership with Remedy Entertainment (Alan Wake, Control, Quantum Break), but also features battle royale and competitive multiplayer modes.
