2K has released a small trailer today which aims to highlight one of the playable characters Zayn Flint, who is a partially retired hitman though without the suit, tie and bald head. He’s quite talkative too chatting about his life and previous jobs he has had, along with the trouble he has gotten in to. There isn’t much gameplay per se but you do get to see Zayn use a couple of his gadgets including a hologram and a defensive shield. The hologram in this instance isn’t used in battle but the shield is.
Zane does state he works alone but since Borderlands is usually billed as a co-operative title I don’t think he’ll be able to enjoy that solace for long. However, if players do choose Zane and do choose to play alone there are some neat tricks in place to make it feel like the multiplayer aspect is present in single player. If you do play with friends then that side has been ramped up to and will include things like a ping system. Or you could choose to fight each other in 1v1v1v1 Free for All mode. Accessibility options have also been confirmed with settings to make things better for players with colour blindness, as well as support for the Xbox Adaptive controller so more players can have a chance at playing the game.
Borderlands 3 will be released on September 13th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC> It has also been confirmed for Google Stadia.
