Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer details released, beta confirmed

The first multiplayer trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has arrived and it shows quite a lot of different things in the three minutes run time. The first thing that Activision is keen to state is that Modern Warfare’s multiplayer will be like a universe with a broad selection of sandbox areas which contain different types of matches within them. These modes will include the 2v2 Gunfight, Team Deathmatch, Domination and Headquarters. That isn’t all but watch the trailer first.

New multiplayer modes will include Cyber Attack which is Search and Destroy updated, and Ground War which will host 100 players in a large scale battle. Perks will be in the game as well so you can pick different abilities to suit your playstyle. Killstreaks were previously confirmed and the trailer shows the killstreaks like the Juggernaut which can take out a lot of players. When wearing the suit you’ll also hear metal music. The tank vehicle is a co-operative killstreak in which one player will drive while the other takes control of the gun.Oh, and the Nuke is back too. Door breaching, gun mounting and the use of night vision goggles will also be key in some competitive multiplayer matches. The trailer shows one section where a team cuts the lights in a cave system and equip the night vision goggles to search for enemies.

Players will have a lot of customisation options too with Gunsmith allowing players to really take their weapons apart and rebuild them to meet the various situations that will be encountered in the game.

Competitive multiplayer isn’t the only thing on thing on offer as Spec Ops also makes a return. You’ll be able to team up with players to take on a number of challenging operations, and the progress made here will count towards progress in all multiplayer and story mode. The PC version of the game will have an uncapped framerate, HDR support, widescreen monitor and multiple monitors. There will be full customisation for keyboard and mouse bindings too.

Activision confirmed that there will be a beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, with those who pre-order getting first access. The beta will be available on PS4 first but after that there will be a cross-platform test as well. The full beta timings are below.
