Developer Pixelated Milk has today stated that it will be delaying the upcoming tactical WWII RPG Warsaw, pushing the date back from September 4th to October 2nd. The new date is an important one in relation to the Warsaw Uprising, the event upon which the game is set, as October 2nd 1944 was the day the Polish Resistance and its remaining army Home Army surrendered to the German forces which then saw thousands of Polish people get sent off to camps, and Warsaw on the brink of complete destruction.
Speaking of the delay Krzysztof Paplinski of publishing firm Gaming Company said:
“With WARSAW, we wanted to create a game both culturally significant and great to play. With the originally planned release date approaching, we needed a few more weeks in order to deliver the best possible experience for players and to ensure we do our history justice”
Within Warsaw players will have to recruit members into the resistance and send them on missions. Not everyone will survive and should you lose a member of the resistance they’ll be gone forever. The missions themselves take place across zones within Warsaw that need freeing up from Nazi control in turn based combat situations. Between missions players will be able to assign abilities and equipment to resistance members at the base.
Warsaw is heading to PC via Steam. A console release is planned though a date for those is yet to be confirmed.
