Sony are clearly taking a leaf out of the blu-ray and dvd market, where films are re-issued with new artwork all the time, as they have announced Only On PlayStation, “A hand-picked selection of outstanding, exclusive games that define a generation.”
The games are still the same, you just get the new art covers which, to be fair. are rather lovely. The range is only available via GAME in the UK and includes the following titles:
- Marvel’ Spider-Man – £29.99
- The Last of Us Remastered – £14.99
- Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition – £15.99
- God of War – £29.99
- Shadow of the Colossus – £29.99
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – £14.99
- Ratchet & Clank – £14.99
- The Last Guardian – £29.99
- WipEout Omega Collection – £29.99
- Bloodborne – £14.99
GAME are, somewhat surprisingly as Sony are backing this promotion, flogging pre-owned copies of the games using the Only On PlayStation branding. What this means is unclear, are GAME taking a pre-owned copy of Horizon Zero Dawn, slapping on a new sleeve and pretending it’s something special?
UPDATE: PlayStation have clarified what is going on with the pre-owned copies
Hi, thanks for asking. Just to clarify, the games with the new artwork slipcases are all new editions of the game.
If you're buying a pre-owned that won't be the new artwork edition. It's just how the site is laid out, apologies for any confusion.
