Get some free loot with these Borderlands 3 Shift and VIP codes

Like previous games in the series Borderlands 3 includes Shift codes that can be redeemed for a key that unlocks the big Golden Chest found in Sanctuary which is available after the end of the fourth mission.

So what do you do with the codes? Well you need to head over to Shift website, which is Gearbox Software’s free fan reward program, and set up account. You can link up your Epic, PlayStation, or Xbox account to make things easy. Once you are logged in go to Social> Shift Code and then hit the Redeem button then tap in those oh-so-important codes.

You can also redeem the codes in game which might be the better option at the moment as the Shift website seems to be throwing occasional errors.

Once you have successfully entered a code, you must check your mail in the social tab, the key will not automatically be added to your inventory.  Open the mail and press the Accept button, this will then add the Golden keys to you inventory.

Additionally you can claim another five keys by completing the pre-order survey on the VIP site. You must play the game within 14 days of the launch date, September 13th, so this will only work for another few weeks.

Each key should give you a high tier weapon of Uncommon rarity or above, and it will be set to your current level. New codes should be posted in a couple of places but you are going to need social media to get them, so keep an eye on Gearbox and Randy Pitchford’s Twitter, and the Gearbox Facebook Page.
