Back in early 2018 Curve Digital made the very unexpected announcement that it was going to be working on a game based on the Netflix series Narcos. The name of that game is Narcos: Rise of the Cartels and the way it has been designed is as a turn based strategy title in which the DEA and the Cartel battle it out for the advantage. Today, Curve Digital released two trailers which show the different sides and their motivations.
The game itself is based on the first season of the Netflix show with players deciding on whether to help grow the Cartel’s business or to take it down with the DEA. There are two separate campaigns in the game so you’ll be able to experience both sides of the coin. Each battle will feature a squad with each member having their own skills. The better they do the more you can upgrade them with new skills allowing for new ways to outmaneuver the opposition.
Narcos: Rise of the Cartels will be released on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch during Q3 2019, with a physical release following in Q4 2019. Pre-orders are open for that now.
