Fallout 76’s Wastelanders update delayed, private servers launching soon

Bethesda has made a couple of announcements regardings Fallout 76 with the main bit of news being that the Wastelanders update, which will be adding human NPCs to the game, has been delayed until Q1 2020. Bethesda stated this update is one of the biggest undertaken by the development team. You can read the statement regarding the delay below.

We’ve been hard at work on Fallout 76 this year, including our biggest free update yet, Wastelanders. We’re excited about how Wastelanders is coming together but it’s going to need more time to be the best, most polished update it can be, so we are delaying its release to Q1 next year. We’ve continued to re-evaluate and change our processes to make sure the work we’re doing hits our quality bar, and yours. We apologize for this delay but know it will be worth the extra time.

Further down you can see some screenshots from the update. Before we get to that though Bethesda confirmed that private servers will be available to purchase next week. While at launch players won’t be able to mod their worlds but that feature will be released eventually. In regards to the Atomic Shop and Challenges, Bethesda will be making the challenges more accessible and fun. The studio has stated it will continue to monitor what is added to the shop to maintain a balance within the player base between those who spend real cash and those who don’t.
